Age: 34
Marital status: Married, wife Mandy
Children: 5 children,Katherine,Andrew,Nathan,Lauren,Joseph
Occupation: Self-Employed, General Contractor
Hobbies: Hunting, Fishing, Photography, Golf
Number of years hunting: 18 years
Occupation: I grew up in the construction industry, working for my grandfather and dad during summers in high school. I attended IUPUI majoring in construction management, and also worked for a residential remodeler while going to school, eventually working full time at this job helping with estimating and job supervision. I worked for a home builder as a superintendant and also ran a few framing crews. After all of these years of experience, I started to take on side jobs which eventually led to starting my own contracting business in 1996. It has been a rewarding experience being my own boss with the flexibility it has given me concerning my love of hunting. I also prostaff for Buck Gardner Calls and several other outdoor suppliers and vendors. And of course very busy with the day to day operation and promotion of the HOOSIER H.I.T. SQUAD LLC, www.hoosierhitsquad.com.
Hunting: I grew up without a father or male figure to introduce me to hunting, and got into hunting out of my own curiosity and desire. I learned where I could from hunting, friends, and from the school of hard knocks. This is why I have such a desire to pass on the knowledge I have learned to my own children and youth in general. I am always anxious to encourage fathers to get involved with their youth and introduce them to the wonderful world of the outdoors. Deer hunting was my early obsession which eventually led into many other outdoor pursuits like: upland game hunting and sporting clays, small game hunting with friends, turkey hunting, dove hunting, and my #1 pursuit waterfowling. I enjoy the comraderie with friends and family, and the opportunities to share time with my family outdoors.

Marital Status: Single
Children: Jason – age 32, and Jeremy – age 31
Dogs: Tank, 4-y.o. black-lab male and Jasmine, 2-y.o. yellow-lab female
Occupation: Education Specialist for Mayo Clinic Rochester – Bachelor of Science degree (BSM)
Number of years hunting: 40
Hunting: This will be season number 40 for me, I missed a couple while serving in the military. I do most of my hunting here near my home in Rochester, MN. I work as a guide during the fall/winter on weekends and some weekdays when necessary, by taking vacation time. This area is a Giant Canada-goose hunting mecca. I do some duck-hunting on the Mississippi river-bottoms, especially later in the fall when the flights start in. We have some decent mallard hunting here, and the diver hunting is good to if we get the weather. The area I hunt on the river is one of the major staging areas in the Mississippi Flyway for canvasbacks.., so shooting a nice bull can is rather easy. I also spend a fair amount of time in the trees, bow-hunting the big-bucks that roam here. I usually travel at least once each year out-of-state to waterfowl hunt. I drew a NR-Waterfowl tag for South Dakota this year, and will be hunting out there the first week of November.
In the off-season: Late winter finds me calling fox and coyotes, or perhaps doing a little ice-fishing. Springtime, I am an avid turkey-hunter, and have shot each of the sub-species of turkeys with the exception of the Osceola. That is where you will find me in the spring, either in the woods or out on the prairies chasing turkeys; Easterns, Rios and Merriams are all on the game-plan again for next spring. I also am an avid fisherman, primarily walleyes early in the summer and then as the water warms.., I go “hunting” again, this time my target is the musky! Not a more exciting fish to battle in my opinion.
Blessings: Too many to count. Being part of Buck’s team ranks right up there!

Murral grew up in the waterfowl rich Illinois River Bottoms. He now resides in New London, WI, which is 45 miles from Green Bay. He has been an avid waterfowler ever since he went duck
hunting the very first time. Murral got into the competition side of calling in 1992. Got 2nd place in the very first contest he entered. Murral met Buck in 1993 in Stuttgart and have been friends ever since. He really enjoys teaching the kids how to blow a call, and for that matter anybody that would like to learn, he will gladly help them out. Murral has hunted in several different states and was even a part owner in a Guide Service in SD. My fondest memories are of the cornfield mallard hunts in SD with good friends. Murral along with Buck’s help, designed the Kryptonite competition call. You will find Murral at shows and contests when he isn’t hunting.

Erich Rogge

erich@buckgardner.com
Children: 1, Colin: 1 1/2 years old
Labs: 2, Ben and Bailey
Occupation: Police Officer
Hunting: Erich started hunting when he was just old enough to pack his BB gun arounds the family farms, chasing coveys of quail with his father and their old English Setter. He got the fever and started seriously duck and goose hunting at around 12 years old and hasn’t stopped since. He cut his teeth in the Montrose blinds, learning from his big buddy Ed and Emmitt Gooseman, who was aptly named and didn’t miss an opening day at the fabled Swan Lake from the time it opened until he died at a ripe old age. Although Erich often follows the migration through North Dakota, Chicago, at home in Missouri, and down through Arkansas and Oklahoma, he’s blessed to have family farmland in the Missouri River bottoms near Kansas City, where the late December and January Canada goose hunting is second to none.
Off season: There really is no off season when you have the sickness. Erich spends that time aquiring, testing, and modifying new products, preparing the ‘ole duck hole for the following season, coaching budding callers, and attending events and calling contests. Erich has been with Buck Gardner Calls since 2001, when the pro staff consisted of only five people, and has seen the staff grow to what it is today.
Zach Cochran
Kenton, Tennessee
zcochran@fca.org
I was raised is in a small country community in Northwest, Tennessee. Growing up my passion for the outdoors grew and grew. I can remember sitting in class as a kid and the only thing on my mind was hunting the next weekend. I fell in love with the art of calling waterfowl at a young age when I picked up my dad's Knight and Hale Double Cluck Goose Call and started blowing it like I have always known how. After that i annoyed my parents every night by blowing my calls on the back porch. I try to hunt 100 days a year and 60 of them killing ducks and geese. I also had a passion for football. At the size of 6'3 275 lb. after high school I was blessed to go on to play college football at Lambuth University and then at University of Tennessee at Martin. Due to the time consumption of football hindered my ability to competing in the calling world.
Now retired from football, I work for Fellowship of Christian Athletes and finishing school at University of Tennessee at Martin. I have had more time to compete in calling competitions. I am also promotions coordinator for Call Em' In Outdoors. CEO is a outdoors ministry that takes at risk kids with no father figures in their life and our staff mentors these kids: teaching them how to hunt, fish, and many other things that would never have a chance to be apart of.

Occupation: Pro Staff for Buck Gardner Calls
Number of years hunting: 25
Occupation: Matt is currently employed at Jay’s Sporting Goods in Clare Michigan and has been for 5 years. Matt sells a variety of outdoor and hunting clothing. Matt is also available for advise regarding waterfowl and upland hunting as his favorite passion. Around the store Matt is regarded as one of the top go to people when a question comes up about waterfowl.
Hunting: Matt started his hunting a lot like most young men. His father Larry introduced him to the woods and water at an early age. Matt grew up hunting small game and whitetail deer in Maryland. Once Matt’s father retired from the military the family returned to Michigan. At this time Matt found his new obsession of wing shooting. Matt had always longed to own a Labrador retriever. At the age of twelve he acquired Tess his first Black lab. Matt and Tess were inseparable between fishing and hunting. This led to an even greater love for wing shooting. In 1995 Matt had his first trip to the Prairie in North Dakota. Matt soon found that there was much more than just shooting birds. The camaraderie found amongst new friends and family along with good dog work, created a duckaholic. Matt has chased waterfowl in the Mississippi flyway and Central flyway. This would include the following states (Michigan, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Nebraska). This brings Matt to the current day, for being a Buck Gardner Pro Staff member. Matt continues his obsession of hunting birds and has gained a new appreciation for hunting and giving direction too young water fowlers.
Contests: Matt currently has not competed on a calling stage. Matt considers his judges the actual birds he hunts.
In the off season: Matt enjoys camping, fishing, and off season waterfowl scouting. Matt also enjoys pro staffing different events for Buck Gardner around the state of Michigan. In the off season Matt and his dad (Larry) use this time for out of state preparation. Between dog work and maintenance to waterfowl equipment there is no off season for Matt.
