Hunting- I owe it all to my Dad. I was 6 the first time we went duck hunting. I was shooting a .410. Shot a couple of teal that day. We shared alot of time in the blind or in the boat. His friends were Father figures to me. Those are memories that I will never forget. We also have done some pheasant and deer hunting together. Since then I have taken all of my kids and my wife with me at one time or another. They have spent many mornings and nights riding along as I scout. And to them I owe a lot. The passion that I feel for waterfowl hunting consumes me year round. From Honkers and Greenheads in the fall, to Snows and Blues in the spring. Planning, plotting and working shows in the summer, I live for this 365 days a year. In 2008, a close friend of mine and I started Dead Leafn’ Guide Service.
Off Season- I spend it coaching baseball and softball or going to high school ball games. I sneak in some fishing also. Either on a pond catching bass or on the river trying to pull in a big Flathead. I also enjoy my time working at shows promoting BG Calls. From the young to the old, getting to talk to people and help them out is such a joy.

Josh Fisher
Talco, Texas
My name is Joshua Wayne Fisher and I was born on September 4, 1985 in McKinney, Texas. Duck hunting first intrigued me in high school while hunting with some friends. After graduating, I continued to hunt as often as possible. I am very passionate about waterfow l and am currently involved with the local Ducks Unlimited chapter as a committee member. I enjoy taking my Dad and younger brother hunting at the lease I currently have in Talco, Texas. I also pride myself in taking others out to hunt so I can show them there’s more to being a duck hunter than just shooting ducks. During the off-season I take pleasure in fishing, riding my four-wheeler, coyote hunting and getting ready for the next season!

I 'm a full-time Firefighter/EMT in Emporia and a automotive repair technician. I have two daughters (Avery & Ember).  Avery is almost four and I have already had her on dove and turkey hunts. I'm hoping to take her on some waterfowl hunts this year. Ember is one and I'm looking forward to getting her in the field when she gets older. I'm very fortunate to be able to take the winter off from the auto repair shop to be able to get to hunt every day that I'm not working at the fire dept. I work 10 days a month at the FD, so that leaves a lot of time to hunt waterfowl. I have been avidly pursuing waterfowl for the last 11 years. I had a friend take me duck hunting one time and I was hooked! The very next day I was buying decoys, waders and all of the essentials to hunt ducks and geese. My waterfowling obsession has taken me to Canada, Arkansas and all over the state of Kansas. I make a trip to Canada annually to hunt waterfowl and compete in two Goose shoot competitions. My team has been fortunate enough to place first several times as well as consistently placing in the top four. I enjoy hunting with my 10-year-old black lab (Nikki). I have trained her myself and she does excellent in the field and marsh. I'm in the process of training a new puppy (Stormy) to take over for Nikki due to her age. I'm hoping that I can do as well with Stormy as I did with Nikki. I intend to run hunt tests with Stormy, so I can keep her skills up through the off-season.  Hunting waterfowl with a good dog makes the hunt so much more fun and productive. I take my waterfowling very seriously and will go to extremes to get on the X. If I have to do a little extra work to be successful, then that's what I will do.

DOB: October 27, 1981
Marital status: Married, Jessica
Children: Sadie, Kirby, and Jazz all three of his German Shorthair Pointers
Number of years hunting: Since the age of 10
Occupation: I work as a painter for Terex Cranes prepping and painting booms, prostaff for Buck Gardner Calls, and shortly I’ll be starting to do some of my own taxidermy work out of my home.

Hunting: I do most of my hunting in local marshes, fields, and rivers.  However, I venture out to various parts of Iowa, North Dakota, and Oklahoma.  I enjoy getting groups of friends together to go out hunting.  I feel that hunting is not only a time to
connect with the outdoors, but is also a time to get closer with friends, family, and others who share the passion of hunting. I love to take kids out hunting during Iowa’s youth duck season.  It gives me a chance to pass on my passion of hunting to the next generation of hunters.  My wife has started to take an interest in waterfowl hunting, so it has been a pleasure to get her outdoors with me to enjoy my favorite type of hunting.

In the Off-season: When hunting isn’t on the forefront, I enjoy fishing, boating, and being with friends and family.  Summers are often jam-packed with social events and free time to go out on the water.  During the off-season, I also feel it is important to take time to work with my dogs.  Another major part of my off-season is getting prepared for the seasons to start up again. I enjoy having my friends come over to shoot clays as a way for us all to practice.  The off-season also gives my friends and me time to plan future hunting trips and practice on our duck and goose calling which we take very seriously.

Brett VanderPoel was born near the swamps of South Eastern SD. He grew up chasing whitetail deer and pheasants. When he was first being taught to hunt, he carried around his little red rider like it was gold. The gun managed to find bunnies and pop cans to shoot at. He discovered his love of waterfowl at 14, when he purchased decoys and waders for the first time. He has been hooked ever since. From seminars to scouting, he is constantly looking to improve in the waterfowl industry. During the off-season, he is trying to snag a walleye or preparing for the next season.

He can be found anywhere in South Dakota or Minnesota chasing some animal or putting on a hunting show. Besides Pro-Staffing for Buck Gardner Calls, He is a Pro-Staffer for Rig‘Em Right waterfowl, Hard Core Decoys, and Kruger Farms.

My name is Gary Bottger and I grew up hunting the sandhills of Nebraska.  My earliest hunting memory is of tagging along with my grandfather hunting the hills south of Ainsworth, Nebraska.  The heritage passed down from my grandfather to me was something that to this day still makes a difference.  The days I spend hunting with my family and friends are what makes life worth living.  I still do my best to hunt he rolling hills of central Nebraska as much as I can.  I also hunt the Northeast part of Nebraska.

I have done my best to dedicate my hunting to the youth of Nebraska. I recently became a Nebraska Game and Parks Youth Hunting Instructor and actively work with the scouts in many of the small towns in Nebraska.  I have been blessed with a outstanding daughter that enjoys the days afield with me.  I have been part of Buck Gardner calls for a few years now and can say, there isn’t a call company out there that enjoys working with youth like Buck’s group.  If anyone in Nebraska is having problems or just wants to
talk duck, drop me a line.

Chris Durr
Lenexa, KS

I was born and raised in Kansas City. My dad started me out pheasant and quail hunting at the ripe age of 7 and I got the opportunity to go on my first duck hunt at age 10.  After going on my first duck hunt I was hooked. It was something I had to do every weekend.  I grew up hunting in the famous Squaw Creek area in Mound City, Missouri.  I still currently hunt in the Squaw Creek area along with public refuges all over Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas.

I attended Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg Kansas where I got a degree in Construction Management and Business.  I played Football for a year but decided to give it up. During my college career I would usually schedule all of my classes to where I could hunt at least once a day.  I started to understand what it takes to be a successful waterfowler.  I had access to two public refuges that were hunted hard but after learning how to scout and the right time to hunt success came.  I also understood the comminatory of duck hunting among good friends.  It is something that became engrained in my heart and soul.  Hunting ducks became something more than just pulling the trigger; it became a time to be in God’s country with my best friends and to just have a great time.  Along with waterfowl hunting, I love to chase deer and turkey with a bow.  I usually start my hunting season out in September high in a tree with my bow and end my season in January standing in flooded timber.  It does not get much better.

Whether it is during the season or in the off-season, I am always thinking about hunting or something to do with hunting.  During the summer months I stay busy working waterfowl shows all over Kansas and Missouri for Buck Gardner Calls and Tanglefree Decoy Company.  In my spare time I love to shoot trap and 3D with my bow.  I also love to spend time with my wonderful wife Staci and son Drake.  I am looking forward to the day I can take my son on his first hunt and share the great things my father has taught me.  He is 2-1/2 and already asking me for a bow and BB gun.  I currently work as a Project Manager for Butler Manufacturing and reside in Overland Park Kansas.

1 black lab Trix and 1 yellow lab named Lazy
Occupation: Pipeline Controller
Number of years hunting: 27
Hunting: Len got his love of the outdoors from his father. He is lucky enough to call his dad his best friend. His father strarted
him out hunting at an early age. The first time we were set up in a duck blind on my very first duck hunt, and I heard the fighter
jets come over the top of us turn and land in the dekes, I was hooked for life. As I got older, I tried to pursue my passion as much
as I good. I would hunt anywhere I could. I have hunted flooded timber from Texas to Arkansas and field hunted from Texas to
Canada. I was lucky enough to get picked up by Bucks Prostaff about 4 years ago.

Contest: I have only entered a few contest but the first one that I ever entered I placed 3rd blowing the Kryptonite.

Off Season: What offseason. There is tons of things to do to be prepared for the following season. I love spending time with my
family and getting them involved in the outdoors as much as possible. When ever I do have a chance to get away I love to sit and
relax at the lake house, but that doesn’t happen to much. Getting prepared for the upcoming season takes a lot of time.
Remember one thing, when their toes touch the water, shoot ‘em in the lips.

Occupation:  Emergency Veterinary Technician and college student

Hunting:  I grew up hunting with my father and his friends starting at about the age of 5.  Duck hunting was the primary activity
but pheasant and quail and eventually deer hunting soon followed.  As I grew older I got more and more involved with chasing
waterfowl to the point where it is basically a year round obsession now.  We usually manage to hunt about 50 to 55 days of a 60
day duck season and then its on to geese after that.

Contests:  HRC and AKC hunt tests and hopefully this fall some AKC field trials as well.  There also may be some time for duck
calling contests but my main focus is in the retriever games. I do, however, judge a calling contest or two every year.

Off-season:  There is no off-season, most of that time is spent training dogs and doing seminars and all the while prepping
everything for the upcoming season.

Hunting for Richard started with his dad on a small farm west of Mckinney Texas.  Dove was only the beginning of what will be a life spent with every spare minute in the field.  With most of his winters spent chasing Predators and Waterfowl!  Now being a Pro Staffer for BGC and Mossy Oak has only amplified his love for hunting and teaching others about the outdoors.  Anytime he has the chance to teach others what he knows is taken as well as taking in all the information from other experienced hunters.  Doing this kind of work has opened up an unbelievable opportunity to do just such things.  When Richard is not out hunting you can find him out Bass fishing with his kids, or working on his calling.  With the lack of youth in the hunting field he takes every chance possible to get as many as he can out of the house and learning!

All it took was one long, muddy walk to a public hunting area, in freezing water, watching a small flock of mallards lock up and drop into a decoy spread and he was hooked for life!  Now, Mike looks forward to getting his children into the blind and passing along his passion for the pursuit.  Thanks to a very understanding wife, the children are already practicing their calling techniques around the house.

Mike was born in New Jersey where he was introduced to the great outdoors during family camping trips.  When he moved to Texas he was introduced to predator and waterfowl hunting and his addiction to the outdoors grew ever stronger.  Mike does not have an “Off-Season”.  If he is not in duck blind, he is sitting in the scrub brush calling coyotes.  When not in the field, he spends his time with family and friends.  Mike is constantly trying to improve his calling ability and scouting new hunting locations.  Mike is a member of the Buck Gardner Calls Pro Staff and Mossy Oak Predator Pro Staff.  Working for these companies has allowed Mike the opportunity to meet and talk to other people who share his love of the outdoors.
